Stadium:   Gillette. The Patriots have slowly evolved their stadium into an excellent football experience. They incrementally add on to it, we had fantastic seats.

Summary:  The Bears kicked the Patriots right in the dick, which was very unexpected.  Game was a full blown QB controversy as Bill pulled Mac Jones for Baily Zappe after three series.  Very entertaining game.

United States Military Academy (Army) 2022

Overview:   USMA (United States Military Academy) or Army sits right on the Hudson river about two hours north of New York city.  Game was a noon kickoff, we got there early.  Took a tour the day before the game and also had dinner at the CIA the night before the game.  CIA was a lot of fun, it's about an hour north of the USMA, also on the Hudson. Overall just a beautiful area.  

West Point is an American treasure, full of military history. Most of the Civil War battles were fought by commanders who were classmates a few years earlier. 

Game Experience:    No frills as one would expect. At the beginning of each half they drop in paratroopers from a helicopter.  We had great seats, game was competitive. Army goes for it on 4th down a lot. 

Stadium:   Cool stadium in the middle of campus.  On the small side but well designed. Entire campus is one giant athletic facility, which makes sense when you learn every cadet is required to play a sport (either club, varsity or intramural)

Red River Shootout (Big 12) 2022

Overview:   This year's trip to Texas to visit my friend Carl was to hit the Texas State Fair and the Red River game.  Carl had a deal to get two for one Texas Mules at the Fair.  

Game Experience:   Red River game is solid.  Different experience as the Texas State fair is surrounding the Cotton Bowl. For the record, the Minnesota State Fair is much better than the Texas State Fair.  

Stadium:   The Cotton Bowl.  I didn't mind the stadium. I know they want to spend some ungodly sum to renovate it for....a couple of games a  year?  Not sure why they wouldn't just move the game to ATT. Tradition I suppose. 

Summary: This was a old fashion ass kicking. Most lopsided game in the history of the series I think. Texas came out and cock slapped them early and often.

Arizona Cardinals (NFL) 2022

Overview:   I decided to double dip with the University of Arizona and the Arizona Cardinals.  This was leg 2. 

Pre-game:  Had breakfast in Tucson and went straight to the stadium.  Game was 1PM local time. 

Game Experience:  Watched the Cardinals get boat raced by the Chiefs.  Nice to see Mahomes in his prime. 

Post Game:  Grabbed dinner and made my way to the airport

Stadium:   This is a great stadium with a lot of recent Super Bowl history, particularly for the Patriots.   It's nowhere near downtown Phoenix, just kind of out on it's own along with the hockey arena.

University of Arizona (PAC 12) 2022

Overview:   I decided to double dip with the University of Arizona and the Arizona Cardinals.  The trip started out on a bad omen: I saw a guy die driving on the way in from Phoenix.  Actually, he wasn't dead at the time but he was hit by a car lying in the road.  I checked the news after I got home and found out he didn't make it. 

The rest of the trip was great though so maybe it wasn't an omen.  Tucson is a great city with great food.  

Pre-game:  Great football day, Texas vs. Alabama started the day and when I found out that Texas was shooting for the upset I stopped in at a local bar (The Depot) to see if they could pull it out. Unfortunately Sark tucked his balls between his legs and Texas lost by a point.  After that I drove up to Mt. Lemmon which was different.  Worth the trip as it's close by. 

Game Experience:  I parked at the end of the train line and rode that from the medical center to downtown.  I got a couple of beers at Thunder Canyon brewery hung out and went to the game when it was time.   Game itself was ok, Mississippi State was in control throughout.  

Post Game:  Headed to the Depot for Karaoke. Very average. Had a couple of beers and went back to the airbnb.

Stadium:   Arizona stadium is very nice. but nothing memorable. They served beer. 

Summary:  I only have a couple of PAC 12 schools left.  This was a great opportunity to knock one of them off when the team had some positive momentum. Would love to come back if Arizona was on an upswing.
