UCF (Conference USA) 2000

College:  UCF (Conference USA)
Year:   2000
Games:  Virginia Tech 44 UCF 21
Rating:  3 out of 10
Cost:  Moderate
Tickets:  Easy.
Stadium:  Dump
Description:  We picked this game to see Michael Vick and because we knew someone down there.  I don’t remember anything other than the Citrus Bowl being a dump and attending the worst pregame party I will ever attend and paying 20 dollars for the “privilege”.
This trip illustrates the power of persistence. This was the first attempt at a football trip and was somewhat of a disaster.  Had we quit after this (and we would have been justified) we would have never had the subsequent great experiences down the line.  You have to give things a try more than once, especially when it comes to traveling.  Having said that, I will never give UCF another shot, they should abolish their football program.  They should really abolish the entire city of Orlando.
Don’t Miss:  Disneyworld?  Universal?  Orlando is a joke.  It's more of a corporation than a city.  Don't care if I ever go back.
Avoid:  Tizzer
Attendees:  Bones, Polychronopolus

Patriots vs Jets (September 11, 2000)

Year:    2000
Games:   NY Jets 20 Patriots 19
Rating:   7 out of 10
Cost:  Moderate
Tickets:   Moderate:  Face Value was 46 dollars
Stadium:   The old Meadowlands....not too bad for a professional game
Description:   I went down to visit my friend THE GAMBLER for this game in 2000.  THE GAMBLER grew up in Jersey and is a lifelong J-E-T-S fan.  This was the second game of the year and the second game of the Belichik era. Right after he left Parcelles and the Jets in a less than amicable manner.  The Patriots dominated the first three and a half quarters and then Testaverde hit Wayne Chrebet for 2 TDs and the win turned into a loss.

The Patriots were obviously much improved, but there is no way anyone could have known they were going to have the kind of success they have enjoyed since.  They haven't had a losing season since 2000.  This was the the first time I had heard the term MASSHOLE. Someone held up a sign that said "Belichik is a MASSHOLE".  I've been using that term since!

I spend the day of the game walking around Manhattan.  It was exactly a year to the day before everything changed.

Attendees:  Bones, THE GAMBLER
